In 1999, Target launched its first designer collection with architect Michael Graves. Over the next two decades, the budget-friendly retailer would go on to partner with some of the biggest names in fashion, home design, and more, including runway staples such as Jason Wu, Altuzarra, Missoni, and 3.1 Phillip Lim.
Needless to say, each of their limited collections caused a buying frenzy, with shoppers lining up to get their hands on ready-to-wear goods at a fraction of their normal cost. But on September 14, shoppers that missed out on their favorites the first time around will have a chance to get their hands on the goods, as Target pulls from its collaboration archives to delight fans once more with gorgeous, high-end pieces that range from $7 to $160.
“Two decades ago, when we first set out to make beautifully designed products affordable, we created a movement in retail and culture that proclaimed that design could be—and should be—for all,” Rick Gomez, executive vice president and chief marketing and digital officer for Target, explained in a press release. “This Anniversary Collection takes our guests on a nostalgic journey through our designer collaboration history where they can discover products that they’ll fall in love with all over again, or for some, for the very first time."
