Nostalgic Grasshopper Pie Is The Cool And Creamy Dream We All Know And Love
Named after the retro cocktail, this Oreo-cookie-crusted pie is both refreshingly minty and indulgently chocolatey
I remember my mom making this Nostalgic Grasshopper Pie when I was growing up in the midwest. Based on the classic cocktail—created in New Orleans—its signature emerald color comes from crème de menthe liqueur. Even when we didn’t have the ingredients to make Nostalgic Grasshopper Pie, my sister and I would enjoy scoops of vanilla ice cream topped with a splash of the bright green liqueur. Originally, we made the crust with Nabisco’s Famous Wafer Cookies, but switching to Oreos makes it even more delicious. For a double dose of mint, try Mint Oreos for the crust when they’re available in your local store.
