Alex Drummond and her husband Mauricio Scott are gearing up to welcome their new baby into the world! In a recent post on Instagram, The Pioneer Woman’s eldest daughter revealed that she had a “sprinkle,” which is a smaller version of a baby shower and is often thrown for people who already have kids, to help prepare for the birth of her son. We have the sweet details and photos below!

On Sunday, June 14, Alex revealed on Instagram that she and her husband celebrated at a joint baby sprinkle for their baby boy alongside their pregnant friend Landry Henthorne. This post came just three months after Alex announced her pregnancy and the gender of their baby.

“Boots & BBQ for two little cowboys coming soon,” Alex wrote in the caption. “Shoutout to our besties for throwing us the most PERFECT sprinkle for baby boy. Feeling so real that we are about to welcome baby brother to the crew.”

The day was made up of cowboy hats, boots, western-themed kids books and more. Alex’s sister Paige, Paige’s husband David Andersen, Alex’s brother Todd, her dad Ladd and some of Alex’s friends attended.

“So excited for baby boy!!! Love y’all,” Paige wrote on the post.

“Love you, Alex!! So excited to welcome my nephew into the world!” said Todd.

One person who wasn’t in the photos? Alex’s mother Ree. This came as quite a surprise to fans of the Drummond family, especially since Ree called Alex’s first baby shower back in October 2024 “gorgeous.”

“We all ate yummy food and visited (it was great to see Mauricio’s mom, Martha!), then oohed and aahed while watching Alex open her gifts, and we took lots of photos,” Ree wrote on her site in 2024. “I teared up a few times, I ate my weight in finger sandwiches, and there was a surprise drop-in from George [Alex’s dog] and Mauricio.”

The reason for Ree’s absence? A root canal! After the sprinkle, Alex took to Instagram to share that her mother had a root canal just days before the celebration, causing her to miss it. Even with that health scare, something tells us Ree is just as—if not more—excited as Alex for this little boy.

“Ree Ree is just so happy!,” Ree wrote on Alex’s pregnancy announcement earlier this year. “Love you guys!! Wheee!!!”

When is Alex Drummond’s baby due?

Alex and Mauricio’s baby boy is due in September. It will be their second child, after Baby Sofia, and as of publication, they haven’t announced his name.

“Here we go again!! Another little blessing coming in September. Thank you Lord for our growing family,” Alex wrote in her pregnancy announcement. “George [her dog] is still processing the news.”

A few weeks after that announcement, Alex shared that she is having a boy.

“And now baby boy is on the way,” she wrote on Instagram. “but I will never forget this season of watching Mauricio be the sweetest bestest girl dad ever. He was made for this!”

How sweet is that!
