Many actors have been in more than one Taylor Sheridan show, among them Sam Elliott, Michelle Randolph and even Billy Bob Thornton. Another actress making her mark across Sheridan’s universe? Danielle Vasinova. Not only was she in the hit Yellowstone prequel 1923, but now she’s in the newest show, The Madison, which she calls “incredible.” To learn more about her time in the Sheridan universe, keep reading.

Danielle Vasinova reveals what she really thinks about the Taylor Sheridan universe

In 1923, Vasinova played Ata Waipa, a Native American woman whose path crossed with Father Jacques Renaud (Sebastian Roché) and Marshal Kent (Jamie McShane) as they hunted for Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves). Sadly, Waipa’s tribe does meet a rather tragic end, but that didn’t stop Vasinova from becoming one of the show’s most iconic recurring stars.

Following her time on 1923,  it was announced that Vasinova was going to play Kestrel Harris in The Madison. Considered to be her first leading role, the actress’ casting was one of the early selling points of the show. In fact, she was announced as a cast member at the same time as Michelle Pfeiffer and before Kurt Russell.

“It’s incredible,” Vasinova told Woman’s World of The Madison. “I did 1923 and now The Madison, and it’s just such a special project with such a tremendous cast, and to be able to work on two Taylor projects is a dream come true.”

“The universe has everything that I love,” she continued. “I’m a horse girl. I grew up half in the country and half in the city, so my life in and of itself imitates The Madison. I’ve been riding since I was three years old and so anything  with an epic story, horses and tremendous actors is a no brainer.”

Also a no brainer? Vasinova’s favorite show within the Sheridan universe.

“I have to say 1923 just because I was a part of it,” she laughs. “I love Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford, they’re legends. And it was just shot so beautifully and so cinematically.”

Danielle Vasinova shares some behind-the-scene secrets

The Madison follows the Clyburn family after they move from New York City to Madison, Montana, and, according to cast and crew, it’s one of Sheridan’s first ever female-centric shows.

“It’s told from the point of view of the matriarch as opposed to a patriarch,” Vasinova explains. “Our director [Christina Alexandra Voros] is phenomenally talented. Obviously, she’s a woman. Taylor usually writes really fascinating and really strong female characters and The Madison is definitely female-centric.”

“It’s so compelling,” she continued. “This is definitely one of Taylor’s most intimate works and it’s just a really special story to be a part of. My character represents Mother Earth and the natural way of doing things. And it’s very much a juxtaposition of the Clyburns, who are the New Yorkers and the socialites. It’s very complementary.”

Be sure to stream Season 1 of The Madison on Saturday, March 14 only on Paramount+.
