After months of anticipation, we finally have the official trailer for Taylor Sheridan’s new show, The Madison. Not only does it feature most of the cast—including Michelle Pfeiffer— but it also showcases a brand new, much calmer area of Montana that fans haven’t seen before. Below, we break down what exactly was featured in The Madison trailer and share when you can expect to stream Episode 1 of the show.
What is ‘The Madison’ about?
The Madison follows a rich New York City family named the Clyburns. After they experience an unthinkable trauma, they move to the Madison River valley in central Montana to try to cope. It’s created by Sheridan, and despite being set in modern-day Montana, the show isn’t a part of the beloved Dutton universe.
The series stars Pfeiffer as Stacy Clyburn, Russell as Preston Clyburn, Matthew Fox as Paul Clyburn, Patrick J. Adams as Russell McIntosh, Elle Chapman as Paige McIntosh and Danielle Vasinova as Kestrel Harris. It will be directed by Christina Alexandra Voros, who previously worked on the Yellowstone prequel show 1883, and will be the first new series released by Sheridan in 2026. The show has already been renewed for a second season, but no details on that have been released.

“Michelle Pfeiffer and Taylor were able to get together with the people at Paramount+ and said, ‘Well, let’s do two seasons instead of just one,’” Russell told Entertainment Weekly in January 2026. “ was very happy about that, because I really like what The Madison is. It’s a smart show. “He’s a really good writer—Taylor’s excellent, and Michelle’s great, and she’s really great in this show. Talking about awards—I think they’re going to be looking Michelle’s way… I think that it’s a very different show for Taylor in that it’s a very female-gaze-oriented show. It’s extremely well written, it was fun to play. It was really fun to do. I just had a good time.”
Watch ‘The Madison’ trailer
Released earlier today, The Madison trailer heavily features Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, both together and apart. Pfeiffer’s character, Stacy, appears to be trying to move on from something in Montana, and while it’s unclear whether that loss is the death of Russell’s Preston or something else entirely, it’s evident the series is shaping up to be an emotionally powerful story.
Also in the trailer, Pfeiffer, Russell and Fox can be seen fishing, exploring the great outdoors and adjusting to life in Montana.
“Memories are like a movie. We can play it over and over to revisit all those times we did have together,” Pfeiffer‘s Stacy says. “All the talks, all the laughs and all the hugs.”
You can see these moments and more in the trailer below.
‘The Madison’ premiere date
The first three episodes of The Madison will come to Paramount + on Saturday, March 14. Then the final three episodes will air on Saturday, March 21. As of publication, there is no news on how long each episode will be, but they are believed to be at least an hour.
