Lacey Chabert is revisiting old favorites with her daughter
As the unofficial Hallmark queen, Lacey Chabert is usually prepping for a romantic role or leading lady gig, meaning that most of what she’s been consuming these days on the page is in preparation for work. “I’m currently reading a lot of scripts to be totally honest, and books that my nine-year-old is reading,” she shared, referencing her daughter Julia. “We like to read together. I read to her, and I just got her into Nancy Drew, since those were my favorite growing up, so she’s really enjoying that.”
While Lacey might not have a ton of time to work through that TBR pile, she has committed herself pretty fully to Jenn McKinlay’s story that she’s currently bringing to life, even commenting on how the show compares to the book. “I can’t answer for the book fans, but I do think they will be happy with this adaptation,” the actress told UsWeekly, sharing that there were “some changes that had to be made in the adaptation.” She continued, “I think it’s such a rich story. The characters that people fell in love with in the book are represented so well in this.”
Scott Michael Foster reveals his recent reads
Scott Michael Foster, who portrays Jason Knightly in Paris Is Always a Good Idea, opened up about what stories have been filling his time lately, telling Woman’s World, “I’m actually an audiobook guy. I was paperback for a long time, but then my eyes started hurting, so I listen to books.” He continued, “I’m usually a nonfiction guy, but right now I’m listening to Project Hail Mary, and I really enjoy it. I loved the movie, and so I was like, ‘Well, I got to read the book now.’ And I think the book is fascinating. So much more detailed.”
Though Scott Michael Foster didn’t read Paris Is Always a Good Idea before diving into filming the series, he weighed in on the comparison while chatting with TV Fanatic. “From what I was told, it was similar, but different enough that the adaptation, the series, was a standalone. I know it is closely rooted in the book, but I have not read it. But the writing on this was so good that I felt taken care of with the scripts that they provided. It was really written very, very well. And you’ll see that, when you see the show, it ties together nicely. So maybe I should go back and read the book. I’ll have to see how it compares.”
