The actress shined as Cersei Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones for several years, and most recently, she’s made headlines for her role in the new Netflix western, The Abandons, where she starred opposite Gillian Anderson. Lena Headey and Jerome Flynn (circa 2002)
In the early 2000s, Lena Headey was said to have met Jerome Flynn (who brought to life the character of Bronn in Game of Thrones) on the set of the British drama series Soldier Soldier. Though there hasn’t been a ton said publicly about their relationship and eventual breakup, around the time that Game of Thrones began airing, rumors started swirling that this once happy couple couldn’t bear to work alongside one another on their new series. However, Flynn ultimately debunked this rumor during a panel at Con of Thrones in 2019, a Game of Thrones fan convention.
“We were actually in the same scene together, and last time I saw Lena we were speaking, so I wouldn’t believe everything you read,” he said. “They can get pretty desperate for stories. Lena is a wonderful person and a wonderful actress.”
Lena Headey and Peter Paul Loughran (2007—2013)
Lena Headey was with her first husband until they split in 2011, and in 2013, they would finalize their divorce. While together, they welcomed a son, Wylie. In 2015, the actress opened up to More magazine about her split. “It’s tough,” she shared with More as reported by UsWeekly. “There’s a lot of hurt and sadness and disappointment. Grief. Massive grief. It’s a mourning process, and yet nobody’s died.”
Lena Headey and Pedro Pascal (2014)
In the fourth season of Game of Thrones, Pedro Pascal joined the cast as Oberyn Martell, and off-screen, rumors flew regarding his close relationship with Lena Headey. Though neither confirmed their relationship and it was likely nothing more than close friendship, there’s something to be said about their chemistry. “She make me smile goofy,” Pascal wrote in the caption of an Instagram photo he shared of the two of them, both grinning ear to ear.
Lena Headey and Dan Cadan (2018—2019)
After Lena linked up with Dan Cadan, a filmmaker and childhood friend, the two were together for quite a few years, even welcoming a daughter named Teddy together and getting engaged in 2018. However, shortly after he got down on one knee, the couple called it quits.

Lena Headey and fellow actor Marc Menchaca first got together around 2020, and since linking up romantically, they’ve even shared the screen together in the 2025 short film Long Pork.
