Children of the ‘Happy Days’ Cast: Meet the Kids of Henry Winkler, Ron Howard and Many More

And some of them, including Bryce Dallas Howard, have become stars in their own right

TOP STORIES

During its 11 years on the air, the cast of Happy Days became like a surrogate family to a generation of television watchers, largely due to the warm connection between Richie Cunningham (Ron Howard), the Fonz (Henry Winkler), Potsie Webber (Anson Williams) and Ralph Malph (Don Most), as well as the rest of Richie’s family, played by Tom Bosley, Erin Moran and Marion Ross. From 1974 to 1984, the best of the 1950s was born again and people couldn’t get enough of it.

In the years following the show, many members of the cast have gone on to marry, have children of their own and, in several instances, have even become grandparents. That’s right, “Papa Fonz” is a thing (okay, not really, but Winkler is a grandfather three times over).

What follows is a look at the children of the Happy Days cast.

Ron Howard (Richie Cunningham)

Bryce Dallas Howard, born on March 2, 1981, in Los Angeles, is the eldest daughter of Ron and Cheryl Howard. Attempting to keep her away from the Hollywood lifestyle, Ron and Cheryl raised Bryce on the East Coast. She attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, but left early to pursue her acting career. She did, however, return and received her degree in 2020.

Acting-wise, things began with The Village (2004) and Lady in the Water (2006), followed by roles in Spider-Man 3 (2007), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) and The Help (2011). Her career moved to blockbuster status when she portrayed Claire Dearing in the Jurassic World trilogy (released between 2015 and 2022), and in between starred as Sheila Eileen in Rocketman (2019) while also making her directorial debut on episodes of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett (both 2020). Bryce married actor Seth Gabel in 2006, and they have two children.

Paige Howard was born on February 5, 1985, in Los Angeles. Like Bryce, she was raised away from the Hollywood spotlight and also attended NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. She made her acting debut in Adventures of a Teenage Dragon Slayer (2008) and was acclaimed for her performance in The Employer (2013), for which she won the Best Supporting Actress award at the Los Angeles Movie Awards. She also appeared in Medium and 90210 while showcasing her stage talents in Mary Rose at the Vineyard Theatre in New York City.

In May 2022, Paige married actor and musician Tim Abou-Nasr in a private ceremony, with Bryce serving as her maid of honor.

Reed Howard, born on April 12, 1987, is the youngest child of Ron and Cheryl Howard. Unlike his sisters, he developed a strong passion for golf from an early age. He attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he refined his skills and pursued his ambition of becoming a professional golfer. He established a strong reputation for himself through competition in amateur and minor league tournaments. Beyond his playing career, Reed transitioned into coaching and innovation, founding Steadhead, a company that produces a specialized golf training aid designed to improve balance and swing mechanics.

On the personal front, Reed married Ashley Gioffre in August 2015, and they welcomed their first child, Aspen Leigh Howard, in 2019.

Immersed in the entertainment world from an early age, Max developed a passion for filmmaking and storytelling. He got his start by directing short films before moving on to his feature film debut with Ceremony (2010). Things continued with Flower (2017), a dark comedy starring Zoey Deutch that earned critical acclaim, and Jungleland (2019), a gritty drama about two brothers in the underground boxing world.

Max’s TV directorial work includes New Girl, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend. On top of all of that, he’s also gotten involved in screenwriting and producing.

Zoe Emily Winkler, born in 1980 in Los Angeles, is the eldest daughter of Henry Winkler and Stacey Weitzman. Rather than entertainment, she has focused her attention on education and philanthropy, working as a preschool teacher specializing in early childhood development and, in 2018, co-founding This is About Humanity, an organization designed to raise awareness and providing support to families separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.

On the personal front, Zoe is married to actor Rob Reinis and together they have three children.

Jed Weitzman, born in 1971, is Henry Winkler’s stepson from Stacey Weitzman’s previous marriage. Although not Henry’s biological son, he adopted Jed and raised him as his own, fostering a close bond between them.

Interested in entertainment yet diverging from the path Henry chose, Jed found his calling as a music executive, working with major labels and representing high-profile artists.

Amy Baer (formerly Amy Bosley), daughter of Tom Bosley and his first wife, Jean Eliot Bosley, was born in 1968. Growing up in a show business family, Amy chose a career behind the scenes rather than in front of the camera. To this end, she attended Northwestern University, where she studied communications and fine arts, laying the groundwork for her future success as a film executive and producer.

She spent 17 years at Columbia Pictures, rising through the ranks and contributing to the development and production of a wide variety of films. This was followed by her becoming the president and CEO of CBS Films. In 2012, she founded Gidden Media, an independent media company dedicated to producing films and digital content that highlight strong female protagonists and promote diverse voices in Hollywood.

In her personal life, Amy is married and has children.

Bailey Deluca Baio, born on November 2, 2007, is the only child of Scott Baio and his wife, Renee Sloan. Shortly after her birth, Bailey faced a health scare when doctors suspected she had glutaric acidemia type 1, a rare metabolic disorder that affects the body’s ability to process certain proteins. This turned out not to be the case, but the experience resulted in Scott and Renee becoming advocates for newborn screening and metabolic disorder awareness. Their efforts led to the creation of the Bailey Baio Angel Foundation in 2008, which supports children diagnosed with metabolic conditions and promotes comprehensive newborn screening across the United States. Bailey has, for the most part, remained out of the media spotlight.
