What is ‘Sterling Point’ about?

Is ‘Sterling Point’ based on a book?
Recently, Prime Video has been premiering so many beloved book adaptations, whether films or TV shows, and fans have been obsessed (as proven by Prime Video’s Obsessed Fest). From The Summer I Turned Pretty to Off Campus and Every Year After, so many of the recent shows on Prime were previously novels. So, it’s no surprise that fans are expecting this next project to have been based on a book as well. But the question is, can you actually read this before watching the series?
The answer is no, Sterling Point is not based on a previously written novel. The show was actually written and created by Megan Park, who is also credited as the director, co-showrunner and executive producer. Other work you may have seen by Park includes The Fallout (2021) and My Old Ass (2024). You can also catch her as an actress in projects including A Royal Queens Christmas (2021).
“There’s always going to be space and a desire for these coming-of-age shows, because there’s always a new generation coming of age—and it’s always fun to go back and escape to,” Park said of the show. “You turn on Netflix and it’s, like, One Tree Hill and Gossip Girl. They’re all trending again.”
