Taylor Sheridan fans, we have some explosive news. The first trailer for Landman season 2 just released and it was filled with so many Easter eggs it was hard to keep up. From a potential hint at what Ainsley Norris (Michelle Randolph) is doing to a much darker side of Cami Miller (Demi Moore), it truly looks like it’s going to be one wild ride. Below we break down all the easy-to-miss details in the Landman season 2 trailer and give you an update on when you can expect to stream the season on Paramount+. Read on for more.

A look at the ‘Landman’ season 2 trailer

The first Landman season 2 trailer was released on Thursday, September 4, and appears as though it will take place directly after the events of the first season. You can watch it below and then continue reading to discover some of the things you might have missed.

Demi Moore gets meaner

In season 1 of Landman, Moore’s character, Cami, is happily married to Monty Miller (Jon Hamm). However, at the end, he dies of heart problems, leaving his multimillion dollar oil company in the hands of Cami and Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton)—a plot line that, based on the trailer, will take center stage in season 2.

In recent months, Oscar-nominated Demi Moore has been teasing that we’ll be seeing a lot more of her in Landman season 2 and based on the trailer we have to say, we agree. You can see her meeting with bank heads, attending what’s most likely her husband’s funeral, throwing a drink and saying, the “only difference between me and my husband is that I’m meaner.” Talk about iconic!

Ainsley Norris is going to college?

For Tommy and Angela’s (Ali Larter) daughter Ainsley, a large part of her storyline in season 1 revolves around where she wants to go to college. And in the season 2 trailer, she’s seen wearing a Texas Christian University tee-shirt (the school itself shared a picture of this scene on their Instagram story!). But it’s not the college that matters, it’s what she’s holding.

In the scene, Ainsley is seen with two white pompoms in her hand, even though in season 1 she claimed she didn’t want to be a cheerleader in college because then she couldn’t date a football player. Did that change? Sadly, we will have to wait for season 2 to figure it out.

Sam Elliott is finally at The Patch

Ever since Sam Elliott—who previously worked on the hit Yellowstone prequel show 1883—was announced as a season 2 cast member, fans have been anxiously waiting to learn what exactly he’ll be doing. And now, based on the trailer, it looks like we finally have an answer. In a phone call with Tommy, Elliott can be seen discussing work and he was called “Pop,”—not the “T.L” he was called before. Could he be Tommy’s father? It would make sense, but until we have official confirmation from the show we can only guess.

‘Landman’ season 2 release date

Landman Season 2 will release on Paramount+ on Sunday, November 16, and as of publication there is no word on whether the episodes will drop one by one or all at once.
