See Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish Nail Viral ‘Law and Order’ Dance in Heels on Set
The 'SVU' stars danced in heels, on set—and fans say they 'didn’t miss a beat'
TikTok dances have been a viral craze ever since 2020, with users creating routines to every song imaginable, from newer tracks by Dua Lipa to songs from the 1960s like Connie Francis’ “Pretty Little Baby.” But now, there’s a new viral dance going around to the theme song of Law & Order and the SVU stars have joined in on the fun.
Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish, both of whom star on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, have played their part in the newest dance craze going around the social media platform. Hargitay, who stars as Detective Olivia Benson and Giddish, known for her role as Detective Amanda Rollins, appear to be in costume for filming while dancing. See the hilarious rendition below.

Hargitay and Giddish are clearly putting their all into the TikTok dance as Hargitay yells out 8-counts while they copy the newly popular dance moves. The actress is also singing along to the music while performing, and they both do it while in heels, no less.
The comments rolling in clearly appreciated the video posted by the NBC TikTok account, commending the actors for taking part in the trend. One comment reads, “It’s Mariska counting out the steps for me 😂,” while another says, “Mariska doing TikTok dances was not on my 2025 bingo card 😭.”
The Wolf Entertainment account, the company that produces shows like Law & Order, also shared a hilarious comment that says, “Didn’t miss a beat.” At the time of writing this, the video has 44.6 million views with 6.1 million likes and 53,000 comments, all loving the duo.
The origin of the ‘Law & Order’ dance trend
While Hargitay and Giddish might win for the best recreation of the Law & Order dance, the trend didn’t begin with the two actresses. The dance moves were created and first posted by an account called @jonas_sjv, where the account holder and his friends danced.
The group smoothly danced moves perfectly in sync with each other and seamlessly kept on the beat. See the original video below!

Many TikTok users commented on the dance, which was initially posted on July 25, praising the dancers. YouTube commented, “Smooth with it,” while the Slim Jim account wrote, “Is this TikTok premium?”
Another user’s comment might have predicted the future as it says, “I swear if I see Mariska Hargitay doing this…” and it was written on the same date, days before Hargitay’s video.
The person behind the account posted a video of the dance prior to the one that went viral, though it didn’t get as much attention as the one with his group of friends. He has since posted more renditions of the dance in different locations
