Cast of ‘The Marlow Murder Club’

The Marlow Murder Club is brought to life by a star-studded cast, many of whom you’ve likely seen shining on your screens before.

Samantha Bond as Judith Potts

Leading this cast is Samantha Bond, who plays Judith Potts, a former archaeologist who passes her time writing crossword puzzles for newspapers. While she might seem like your average woman enjoying life with her cat Jasper, there’s far more than meets the eye. Bond has long been a star of both stage and screen, as the actress shined in four James Bond films in the role of Miss Moneypenny. Additionally, you may have caught her in Downton Abbey in the role of Lady Rosamund Painswick, the daughter of Maggie Smith’s character, Violet Crawley. She’s had a successful career in theater as well and has starred in countless West End productions, including Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Amy’s View. 

Cara Horgan as Becks Starling

Cara Horgan plays the part of Becks Starling, the wife of a vicar and a mom to teenagers who quickly learns there’s more out there for her than creating the image of a perfect life. Outside of the series, you may have caught the actress in series such as The Sandman and Traitors, as well as films like The Death of Stalin (2017) and the 2008 book-to-movie adaptation The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. 

Jo Martin as Suzie Harris

Jo Martin brings to life Suzie Harris, the third member of the Marlow Murder Club. Her job as a dog walker and dog sitter in their community means her insight into the lives of those in Marlow is unmatched. Over the years, she’s appeared on the screen in movies like Batman Begins (2005) and series like Doctor Who.

Natalie Dew stars as DS Tanika Malik, a detective who reluctantly turns to this crew of local crime solvers for help in cracking the case. This talented actress has enjoyed a successful career on the stage an on screen, and while she certainly has acting chops, she’s also a singer! Audiences in the UK might recognize her from her roles in series like Sandylands, and The Capture and she’s also lent her voice to the animated TV show Archer. 

What happened in Season 1 of ‘The Marlow Murder Club’?

In the first season of The Marlow Murder Club, Judith is enjoying a swim in the river by her home when she hears a gunshot from near her neighbor’s house. When he doesn’t respond to her call, she flags the police, though they are unable to find anything. Embarking on her own investigation, she discovers his body, uncovering a shocking murder in her quiet, upscale town. Soon enough, additional murders take place in Marlow, and Judith teams up with local ladies Becks and Suzie. Each woman knows something unique about each victim, and putting their heads together, they manage to surprise the doubtful detective with their skills. 

‘The Marlow Murder Club’ Season 2? What to expect

Season 2 of this exciting whodunnit packs just as big a punch as the trio of ladies solves yet another mystery. From the surprising murder of a man with no real ties to Marlow to something sinister at the sailing club, the goings on in town are certainly keeping these ladies busy. Will there be a ‘Marlow Murder Club’ Season 3?

The second season of this series already premiered earlier in this year overseas, but it’s just hitting American screens on PBS. As for a potential Season 3, a third installment has already been confirmed, though no release date has been set.
