TOP STORIES

If you caught the first two episodes of the Outlander prequel series, Blood of My Blood, then you likely have a ton of questions—and theories—about what’s to come. In the debut episode, we got to know Jamie’s parents, Ellen and Brian. Ellen, who comes from the MacKenzie clan, meets Brian Fraser, from her family’s rival clan. The two are immediately taken with one another, but their families stand in their way. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to Ellen, her two brothers are looking to marry her off to a member of the Grant family in an attempt to ease tensions after a misunderstanding led to a fight between the two families.

In the second episode, we get to know Julia and Henry, Claire’s mother and father. We learn the origin story of their romance, with Henry fighting in WWI and Julia working at the censorship office. When a letter from Henry comes across Julia’s desk, the two begin a correspondence, which ultimately leads to romance, marriage and a baby named Claire. When the two are vacationing in Scotland, they get into a car accident, and when Julia stumbles upon a set of familiar stones, she’s transported back in time to 18th-century Scotland—and so is her husband. With both stories now intertwined, only time will tell where their stories will go. Here, a look at some of our favorite theories about what’s to come.

Julia’s baby is someone we’ve met in Outlander—or will meet

In Blood of My Blood, Claire has already been born, and it was revealed that Julia was actually pregnant with their second child at the time they traveled back in time, leading many to believe that her other child, Claire’s sibling, is someone we’ve met or will meet in Outlander’s final season.

Julia and Henry planted the forget-me-nots

One Redditor theorized that the forget-me-nots found at the stones that Claire encounters were actually planted by Henry and Julia. Thinking that they may have decided to stay in the past, a user hypothesized that they may have planted them there in honor of their daughter, Claire, who they would be leaving behind.

Outlander’s Faith ties back to Julia and Henry

In Outlander, Jamie and Claire had a baby named Faith who was stillborn, and the presence of Jane and Fanny in the show’s recent seasons had fans speculating that—somehow—Faith was reincarnated and is actually the two girls’ mother. However, another theory is that Julia and Henry had another child in the past named Faith, and Jane and Fanny are Claire’s nieces.

There will be an Outlander and Blood of My Blood crossover

Many have theorized that in season 8 of Outlander, we might meet Claire’s parents. While the ages they would likely be around the time the final season rolled around makes it unlikely, that doesn’t mean we aren’t still holding out hope!
