What do you get when you combine Justin Hartley and the wilderness? An off-the-charts procedural show called Tracker that is about to debut its third season on CBS this fall. But before you hike off and binge it, you might want to know a little bit more about the plot, cast, release date and more. Lucky for you, Woman’s World has gathered exactly that below! Scroll on for more.

What to know about ‘Tracker’ Season 3

Tracker is a CBS show that follows Colter Shaw (Hartley), an off-the-grid survivalist who spends his time finding missing people and things. In Season 3 specifically, Colter will be dealing with his own confusion and grief arising from shocking details about his father’s death.

“Colter’s background and the way he goes about his business is shaped by his childhood. His father was this hero to him, and then he became this paranoid person who moved the entire family out of the house, grabbed everybody and said, ‘They’re coming to get us. The government is against us, they’re coming to get us!’ When you’re a kid, that’s very traumatic. You just go, ‘Oh my God, let’s move the family to safety!’ You don’t question your father. Your father is right,” Hartley told The Hollywood Reporter in February of this year.

“And so, he moves them off the grid; they become survivalists. And then it becomes obvious, as they get a little older, that maybe something is wrong with dad. He’s got all that pain and all those questions. He’s got a lot of family stuff going on that he’s oddly enough living in an RV that is on wheels; he is easily able to start the truck and move on as soon as it starts to get a little bit too close to home,” he continued. “And he’s a guy who is so brave and willing to face all these dangerous things head-on. Slowly but surely, he starts to realize, ‘Is mom lying to me? Was Dad paranoid or was he kind of right about things? Wait a minute, what’s going on here? Maybe he wasn’t paranoid?’ That would drive you crazy, right?”

Who will be in the ‘Tracker’ Season 3 cast

Along with Hartley, Jensen Ackles will return for Season 3. Not returning are Robin Weigert, Abby McEnany and Eric Graise.

“The only rule I really have of the show is each week Colter is going to come to a new place and there’s going to be a new case. How he gets those answers and what he uses on the team, that’s all something that’s up for grabs,” Tracker executive producer Elwood Reid told US Weekly. “Meeting these [local] weird characters is something we’re going to try to do more of as the season goes on. Just Colter coming in and interacting with other characters. It’s fun to see Justin flex those muscles with really good guest cast members.”

‘Tracker’ Season 3 release date and Season 4 details

Tracker Season 3 will begin airing on CBS on Sunday, October 19. From there, it can be seen every week and will be available to stream on Paramount+.

Currently, there is no news on whether or not the show will get a Season 4 following this upcoming season.
