Ingredients

  • 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/4 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts
  • cut into 16 slices

Heat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Line 13-inch by 9-inch baking pan with enough foil to overhang sides by two inches; grease foil. Combine flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt; reserve. In pot, combine chocolate and butter; over low heat, cook, stirring, until melted and smooth. Remove from heat.

Stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla until blended, then reserved flour mixture until just blended. Stir in walnuts. Spread in pan. Bake 12 to 15 minutes, until edges are almost set and center is still wet. Arrange cookie dough slices about 1/2 inches apart over top, breaking up slices to fit as necessary. Bake 22 to 25 minutes, until golden brown and baked through. Cool on rack.
