This Skillet Rice With Meatballs Recipe Comes Together Quick Thanks to Clever Shortcuts
Let’s face it, no one wants to slave over a hot stove after a long day. And I, for one, am always looking for shortcut ways to get a weeknight meal on the table without a lot of work. That said, it’s easy to jazz up a few store-bought items to create a delicious dinner that’s easy and delicious. Case in point: Our Skillet Rice with Meatballs recipe.
For the rice, we cook onions in olive oil before adding the grains. This step adds a rich savory note and takes just a few minutes. Since we use precooked frozen mini meatballs, there’s no need to thaw them ahead of time. Simply place them over the rice halfway through cooking. While they heat through, the seasoned juices melt over the rice for an extra layer of goodness. Then jarred pasta sauce is enhanced with all those flavors to tie the whole thing together.
