Wendy’s Just Launched a ‘Wednesday’ Meal—And the ‘Dips of Dread’ Choose You
'There's nothing happy about this meal'
If you’ve been eagerly awaiting the creepiness of Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday Addams to come crawling back onto your screen, this mysterious and spooky Wendy’s meal might be just the thing to hold you over.
“Wendy’s and Wednesday are both cultural icons famous for challenging convention with wit and a bit of sass,” said Liz Geraghty, International Chief Marketing Officer for The Wendy’s Company. “This isn’t a typical collaboration, because not just any brand could scheme up a Meal of Misfortune with Wednesday Addams. But for a brand that’s proudly customer-obsessed and unapologetically bold, it was a match made in dark, dry-witted heaven.”
The appropriately titled Meal of Misfortune is set to release next month, just days before part 1 of Season 2 is released on August 6. Find out what the Meal of Misfortune includes and what Wednesday herself says about.
What’s in Wendy’s Meal of Misfortune?
This limited-time offer is full of dark but delicious treats that are sure to get you ready for Season 2. The meal is centered around the “Dips of Dread,” which are four sauces that are just as devious as The Addams.
The “You Can’t Hyde” sauce was a slightly spicy ketchup, while the “This Will Sting” dip is a sweet but spicy choice. Then the “Grave Mistake” is a creamy but very spicy dip, with some saying the ingredients include Ghost Pepper. And finally, the “Nowhere to Woe” sauce is equally creamy yet tastes more like a spicy mayo. You don’t get to choose which dips you want; however, the “Dips of Dread” will choose for you.
The meal also comes with the “Rest in 10-Piece” nuggets, a small “Cursed and Crispy” Fries and a small “Raven’s Blood” Frosty. The Meal of Misfortune is served in a Wednesday-themed bag with the words, “There’s Nothing Happy About This Meal.” The bag features Wednesday’s iconic dark braids and her usual attire.
When and where you can get your hand(s) on the new ‘Wednesday’ meal
Of course, it’s still the dead of summer and a few months until spooky season commences, but with the upcoming release of Wednesday Season 2, Wendy’s has decided to drop this meal soon.
Luckily, you won’t need to wait very long to get a taste of this dark but delicious meal as the Meal of Misfortune will be available in stores starting on August 4, 2025, in the United States and on August 11 for folks in Canada.
Why Wednesday Addams agreed to this dark and delicious collab
Even Wednesday herself has shared her thoughts on the upcoming collaboration, explaining that she is looking forward to it.
“Normally I’d be against this kind of capitalistic corporate synergy,” said Wednesday Addams, Nevermore Academy student. “But when the fast-food-slinging pigtailed provocateur said I could do whatever I wanted to her customers, I couldn’t resist.”
