What is ‘Scarpetta’ about?
Scarpetta tells the story of Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a medical examiner whose keen eye and sharp skills have allowed her to uncover crimes and lend a voice to victims over the course of her career. Now, she’s pursuing a killer from the case that made her name 28 years prior, the story jumping between her first pursuit and present day.
Who is in ‘Scarpetta’?
Scarpetta has a stacked cast, led expertly by Nicole Kidman in the title role. By her side is Jamie Lee Curtis, playing the part of her sister Dorothy. Bobby Cannavale plays Dr. Scarpetta’s brother-in-law, with Ariana DeBose also joining the cast as Dorothy’s daughter.
Jamie Lee Curtis played a major role in bringing this series to the world, and the actress explained to AARP what it was like sharing the screen with her costar, Nicole Kidman. “She brings her spirit, which is open, beautiful, gracious, grateful that she gets this opportunity. I walk into every day of every job the same way. I don’t care if it’s a yogurt commercial or a TV show I’m producing. We both appreciate that we get to do this. And at this age, if we’re not in this together, I’m not sure what we’re doing.”
