Melissa Gotthardt
Melissa Gotthardt is a heath reporter and editorial researcher for Woman’s World and First for Women who focuses on integrative health and nutrition. She previously served as a researcher at Prevention and research director at Men’s Health, and participated in Rodale book projects including The Doctor’s Book of Home Remedies, Save Three Lives and The Earth Care Annual series. As a writer, she has spent more than 30 years covering the health and nutrition beat for national magazines. In addition to Woman’s World and First for Women, her work has appeared in Simple Grace, Prevention, Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Marie Claire, AARP the Magazine, and O, the Oprah Magazine.
She graduated cum laude from Wilkes University, where she majored in environmental science and technical writing. While there she received two philosophy awards and wrote the science column for the Wilkes newspaper, The Beacon. In addition, she conducted water quality testing, served a river guide and secured government grants for environmental preservation during two internships at the Susquehanna River Tri-State Association. She enjoys spending her free time gardening, fishing, antiquing and counting her blessings, especially her husband, son, daughter-in-law, three cats and two Golden Retrievers.
