Ree Drummond, more fondly known as the Pioneer Woman, is famous for her rustic recipes and traditional cooking methods. You’ll usually see her whipping up Southern-inspired dishes in cast-iron skillets or Dutch ovens. That’s what makes the newest addition to her line of cookware for Walmart so surprising: the Pioneer Woman Instant Pot.
According to Delish, Drummond was reluctant to hop on the Instant Pot bandwagon until her best friend Hyacinth Kane, who often appears on her show, gifted the cook with one for her birthday. “Once I understood what it was about and how much time it can save, I was really hooked,” Drummond admits. Although the trendy kitchen gadget has been growing in popularity over the past few years, you have to admit it’s all the more tempting to buy one for your kitchen now that it has the Pioneer Woman’s seal of approval.
Fans will be able to pick up Drummond’s take on the popular pressure cooker starting this weekend. They come in two beautiful designs featuring her signature floral patterns, and Drummond even throws in a few of her favorite recipes with each sale, including chocolate lava cakes, spicy Dr. Pepper pork, and hard-boiled eggs.
Drummond also raved to People about the pressure cooker’s ability to make beloved traditional dishes in a hurry without sacrificing any flavor, like a good ole pot roast. “It usually takes three to four hours to make my pot roast recipe, if you make it on the stove top or in the oven,” she explained. “In the Instant Pot, it took an hour and 20 minutes. I’ve always proudly said you can’t rush pot roast, but in a pressure cooker you can rush pot roast and it doesn’t taste rushed, it actually comes out just perfectly tender and moist.”
If you were just as reluctant as Drummond to believe the hype around this cooking device, it might be time to test one out for yourself, too.
