‘Alaska State Troopers’ Season 9: Why A&E revived the series after 10 years
Season 9 of Alaska State Troopers will follow the same plot as the other seasons: Several state troopers will take viewers with them as they save lives, fight crimes and more, all within the Last Frontier. What makes this season extra special is that it’s the first time any episodes have aired since 2015. And the show will also be released by A&E, not National Geographic.
“In America’s largest and wildest state, just 400 Alaska State Troopers are responsible for patrolling hundreds of miles in Fairbanks and the Mat-Su Valley and serve more than 230 remote villages only reachable by boat or plane,” reads the official press release obtained by Woman’s World.

“From the endless light of summer to the deep freeze of winter, each one-hour episode captures these men and women as they patrol the vast frontier by land, sea and air. Alaska is the final stop for fugitives on the run, where danger is vast, distances are brutal and backup can be hours away,” the release continued. “From multi-agency criminal takedowns to life-saving search and rescue missions, the series showcases a range of calls Alaska State Troopers face that are as immense and unpredictable as the state itself.”
Meet the 2026 cast: Who is Trooper Norris?
As of publication, there are no officially confirmed cast members for Alaska State Troopers Season 9, but that hasn’t stopped A&E from sharing photos of three state troopers. Along with the announcement that the show would be returning, the network released four photos, two of which contained state troopers.
The first showed a group of three men standing in a half circle, in uniform, talking. The second shows a close-up of one of the men and when zoomed in, viewers can see the name Norris on his uniform, but aside from that, there is no information available as to who he is.

Along with those, A&E released two scenery photos. The first shows the backside of what looks to be a state trooper, but only half of his body is shown. Behind him, there is a police car and what appears to be three men standing behind it, but it’s unclear if they are pedestrians or police.

The final photo is of a car driving through a scenic classic background, and if that isn’t enough to invite viewers, then we don’t know what is.
