With All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 having recently wrapped up, fans are thrilled at what’s to come in Season 7. The latest installment set the scene for a follow-up that’s sure to be full of typical Darrowby drama and antics, but it’s the romances on the horizon that have fans even more ecstatic at what’s to come in the next season. While characters like Helen and James have already linked up, each passing season brings new challenges and circumstances for them to face as a couple. Additionally, there are a few duos that have only just begun to scratch the surface of romance, and we’ve got our fingers crossed that in All Creatures Great and Small Season 7, we’ll get to see them come to fruition. Here, see which love stories to be on the lookout for.

James and Helen’s sweet love story had been brewing since Season 1, and when they finally tied the knot in Season 3, viewers couldn’t be happier. While it’s been three seasons since then, the couple has experienced a lot, including the growth of their family, James spending time away during the war and dealing with changes in family dynamics. However, like most of the fans, the cast themselves have high hopes that James and Helen will find time to resettle as a couple.

I hope that Helen and James and the kids get to have some fun,” Rachel Shenton told Masterpiece PBS. “It’s been very serious in their life for a long time. James being away at war, James struggling with brucellosis, Helen being there, feeling very torn with the family. Now, Jenny’s going off, it’s been quite emotional, quite heavy, obviously with the war. I’d love to see them having fun doing sort of what James and Helen do best, but with these two little people in tow, that’d be great.”

Siegfried and Mrs. Hall

Fans have long been rooting for Siegfried and Mrs. Hall, but over the course of the show, fate has seemingly kept them apart. When Siegfried linked back up with former flame Dorothy in Season 6, many noticed Mrs. Hall’s disappointment at seeing the two together. While Season 6 was airing, Anna Madeley, who plays Mrs. Hall, denied any romance between the two in conversation with Radio Times.

“A real friendship has blossomed between the two of them and they are of a generation so there’s lots of things they can share and understand about one another from their lived experiences. But we just have a lot of fun with these two characters who butt heads a bit.” However, she went on to say that “They do get on and they do have a lot of affection for each other. Where that will lead, you don’t know.”

Tristan and Charlotte

In Season 6, Tristan returned home from war while grappling with the lingering effects of his service, but his sweet, blossoming romance with Charlotte was a fan-favorite, and we can’t wait to see how it evolves in Season 7.

“Tristan had some beautiful lines of dialogue in Episode 6, speaking about the war and what happened to him, but I actually think my favorite line of dialogue from this season came from Charlotte, when they are having their little heart-to-heart at the fete in the Darrowby Green,” Callum Woodhouse, who plays Tristan, explained to Masterpiece. “He kind of heartbreakingly tells her, ‘I’m not sure if I’ll ever be the same chap that I once was.’ And Charlotte’s line back to him is, ‘That’s fine. I like you the way you are now.’ And it makes me quite emotional, thinking about it, because she is happy with him, how he is, and that’s so, so beautiful. She’s not trying to cure him. She’s not trying to change him back. She’s just trying to make this version of him happy. And I think they do that for each other. I love it.”

As we eagerly await All Creatures Great and Small Season 7, one thing is certain: love is always worth rooting for. Whether it’s James and Helen rediscovering joy, Siegfried and Mrs. Hall finally taking a chance on each other or Tristan and Charlotte building a future together, these romances remind us that the best love stories are the ones that grow through patience, understanding and unwavering support.
