Fans of The Chosen have spent years watching Dallas Jenkins, Jonathan Roumie and the cast bring the Bible-based show to life, and it all leads up to the seventh and final season. The historical drama has taken the world by storm and helped many people — Christians and non-Christians alike — come to understand the Bible and the life of Jesus in a new and impactful way.
Now, as Dallas and the cast members get ready to begin filming the next season of The Chosen, they’re also gearing up for the finale — something that feels exciting and bittersweet.
Between filming in Italy for the crucifixion scene in Season 6 to making it all as realistic as possible, one thing viewers can expect is that each cast member and Dallas himself will be pulling out all of the stops for Season 7.

Dallas has previously said that they will continue to follow the chronological order of the Bible through Season 6 and Season 7, which means that all of the ways Season 6 will bring on grief and sadness, Season 7 is sure to leave fans filled with joy, peace, and hope.
Here, Woman’s World is breaking down everything we know so far about Season 7, while we eagerly await the theatrical release of Season 6 on November 15, 2026.
Filming underway for Season 7
In his recent live stream, Dallas Jenkins teased that Season 7 would also begin soon. The stream was live on March 29th and Dallas said, “We start filming Season 7 in about a month,” which means they are gearing up now to start next week! “Can you believe it?” Dallas asked fans in the stream.
Dallas raised even more anticipation for the next season by mentioning how powerful and moving the scripts are.
“The scripts are done, and we’re making some adjustments for budget and for schedule,” he said.
“This is going to be another long season of filming for us. We want to finish strong. We want to land the plane in a very beautiful way,” he then went on to tease responses they’ve already received from the beloved cast.
“We have the responses to the scripts from the cast and from some of those who’ve been reading them. So far, I’m getting texts of just excitement and tears and joy and beauty and all these things that I think you’re going to see in Season 7.”
What we know about ‘The Chosen’ Season 7 release date
As fans are still waiting with great anticipation for Season 6, Dallas Jenkins says that although half of the work to create Season 7 is complete, its release is still some time from now. Season 6 of The Chosen and their other series will take precedence and be the first things that we see.
“But you’re going to see Season 6 first, and you’re even going to see our Joseph of Egypt limited series before Season 7,” which Dallas announced on a previous live stream. The new live‑action miniseries, Joseph of Egypt, is currently filming near Albuquerque, New Mexico, with production overseen by 5&2. Jenkins shared that the new show will be interconnected with The Chosen series.

“So there’s still a lot to come. As you pray for us, as you pray for me — please just keep in mind just how difficult this is. Filming is always painful. It takes a long time,” Jenkins confesses he isn’t actually looking forward to it, especially since it’s the final season. “Our final time that this group will be together in the filming process. So there’s a lot to come with that.”
Fans will continue waiting with bated breath for more details as the cast members and crew begin filming in the coming weeks and reveal more to come about Season 6!
