Last year, fans got familiar with Garrison Stroopsdorf, an army base in the Netherlands known not for its military contributions, but more for its top-notch commissary, laundry services and recreational activities in the hit Fox sitcom Going Dutch. When Colonel Patrick Quinn and Major Abraham Shah are reassigned to Stroopsdorf after Quinn goes on an offensive rant on camera, he comes to learn that the everyday happenings at the base are far from what he’s used to. However, when he tries to instill a new sense of discipline and grit into those who report to him, he’s met with the base’s leader—who just so happens to be his estranged daughter, Maggie. Full of quirky characters, a whole lot of laughs and a ton of heart, Going Dutch was the perfect start to the year back in 2025, and now, it’s back for Season 2! Here, everything we know about the second season of Going Dutch.

‘Going Dutch’ Season 2 cast: Kristen Johnston joins Denis Leary

The second season returns with many of the familiar faces we got to know and love in the first season, as well as a few new guests we can’t wait to see shine. Leading the way as Colonel Patrick Quinn is Denis Leary and by his side is executive officer Major Abraham Shah, played by Danny Pudi. Also returning are Taylor Misiak as Captain Maggie Quinn, as well as Laci Mosley as Sergeant Dana Conway and Hal Cumpston as Corporal Elias Papadakis. In guest roles, Joe Morton returns as General Davidson and Catherine Tate is back as Katja Vanderhoff, but the addition viewers are most anxiously anticipating is funny lady and sitcom queen Kristen Johnston. Johnston, who is coming off her recent Leanne success, will join Going Dutch in a recurring guest role as General Martin.

Martin is “one of the highest-ranking combat generals in NATO,” according to Deadline, and “is in command, confident, and, much to the Colonel’s (Leary) surprise, stunning.” Additionally, she’s someone Maggie looks up to and hopes to be mentored by, but that plan is complicated when sparks fly between General Martin and Maggie’s father. Johnston shared her excitement regarding her latest role when she shared a photo to her Instagram announcing that she’d be joining the Going Dutch cast. “Denis Leary?,” she wrote in the caption. “I’m so in.”

Why fans are so excited for ‘Going Dutch’ Season 2

Though not much is known about what exactly is set to go down in the second season of Going Dutch, fans can expect the same hilarious antics that the cast brought the first time around—and the folks of Stroopsdorf will most certainly deliver. “Sitcoms like Cheers and The Good Place are treasures. They make you laugh, but they also leave you feeling warm and connected,” Taylor Misiak told Pop Culture Unplugged with Elias. “That’s what we’re trying to do with Going Dutch—make people laugh while telling a heartfelt story.”
