“It really feels like a slice of life. It’s so heartwarming, but also there’s a lot of dramatic and tragic bits,” Elle Fanning told People. “The way Margo handles them is with such optimism…I loved seeing her find her agency and resilience throughout the show and getting to build upon that.”

Kelly!) and more. Keep scrolling for all the must-knows!
What is ‘Margo’s Got Money Troubles’ about?

Based on the book by Rufi Thorpe, the plot centers on Margo Millet. Margo is the daughter of a Hooters waitress named Shyanne (Michelle Pfeiffer) and an ex-pro-wrestler (Nick Offerman). As an aspiring writer, Margo always dreams big, but her life has hit a standstill: While attending college, she strikes up a controversial affair with her English professor (Michael Angarano)…and now she’s pregnant.
Before long, she turns to OnlyFans—a subscription-based social media platform where adult content creators share photos, videos and live streams directly with fans—as a fast way to bring in cash. As Margo faces her new reality and a surprising custody battle, lawyer Linda (Nicole Kidman) acts as her mediator and defender and her father Jinx offers unexpectedly poignant advice.

Behind-the-scenes details: Showrunners, producers and more!

In a sweet twist of events, Margo’s Got Money Troubles is the first time Pfeiffer will work alongside her husband David E. Kelley. Kelley— a former lawyer—serves as the showrunner, writer and executive producer. Pfeiffer and Kelley have been married for 32 years.
“I got really lucky,” she said in a 2012 interview with Parade. “I never take him for granted. I’ve never met a person who has more integrity than my husband. I respect that. There’s his humor and intelligence, too, and he’s really cute, all those things, but if you don’t respect your partner, you’ll get sick of him.”
And while it may be Pfeiffer’s first time working with her husband—it’s not the first time for Nicole Kidman! Kelley and Kidman are longtime collaborators, having teamed up on the acclaimed series Big Little Lies, based on Liane Moriarty’s hit book of the same name, starring Kidman. Kelley is the creative mind and producer behind that series as well as a variety of other shows, including Doogie Howser, Chicago Hope, Ally McBeal and Big Sky to name a few!
Fun fact: Fanning, Nicole and Pfeiffer all serve as executive producers alongside author Rufi Thorpe! The series is produced by A24 (known for a wide array of critically acclaimed projects) and David E. Kelley Productions.
