What was the original ‘Prison Break’ series about?
Prison Break had all the makings for a solid, soapy drama that kept viewers coming back for more year after year. In the show, a man named Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is incarcerated and put on death row for allegedly murdering the vice president’s brother. Convinced of his innocence, Lincoln’s younger brother Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) robs a bank to land himself in the same prison as his brother—but for good reason. A skilled structural engineer, Michael’s former architectural firm worked on the prison, giving him access to the blueprints of the facility. With a unique set of knowledge, Michael embarks on a mission to orchestrate his and his brother’s escape—but the journey is far from simple.
What will the new ‘Prison Break’ reboot be about?
At this point, details about the show’s plot have yet to be revealed. What we do know is that this new iteration of the series will take place within the same universe as the original series, though it won’t have to do with any of those characters or storylines. Who will star in the ‘Prison Break’ reboot?
Both new and familiar faces will be joining this cast, and their roles in the show give a glimpse into what we might expect from the show’s plot. Emily Browning will star in the role of Cassidy Collins, a former soldier who now makes her living working as a corrections officer at one of America’s toughest prisons. Lukas Gage, who you might recognize from shows like Euphoria or The White Lotus, will play the part of Jackson, a “politician from a well-to-do background in his first congressional campaign,” as reported by Deadline. Drake Rodger also joins the cast, playing the part of Tommy, a man who has been serving time for the last decade at the aforementioned prison.
And that’s not all! Ray McKinnon will additionally be joining in the role of Joe, playing the part of a detective looking into an old murder case. Margo Martindale will bring to life Jessica Strand, the prison’s warden. Donal Logue joins the cast as well as a grieving father named Holt, with Lili Taylor playing Carole, “a mother committed to finding the truth,” Variety reports.
When is the ‘Prison Break’ reboot premiere on Hulu?
