Cozy and Comforting Slow-Cooker Mulled Wine Recipe Is Perfect For Fall Gatherings
If you’re like us, as the days grow shorter and the weather turns colder, the holiday spirit really starts to kick in. And there’s nothing we like better than to cozy up by the fire with family and friends with mug of mulled wine. This warming sip is simply red wine infused with spices, herbs and other seasonal ingredients. Traditionally, it’s simmered on the stove top. Our Slow-Cooker Mulled Wine recipe heats up gently and stays at just the right temperature so it’s perfect for a festive gathering.
Whole spices are better than ground for mulled wine. They release more flavor and won’t result in a grainy finish. We wrap cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise pods in cheesecloth. That way it’s easier to ladle the wine into glasses. Next, we add orange juice, zest and rosemary. Then simply let simmer in the slow cooker. Best of all, you can set the cooker on low and let guests help themselves. Make a batch of our Slow-Cooker Mulled Wine recipe and leave us a comment.
