Spaghetti Bolognese

Our meaty Bolognese sauce is packed with plenty of deep, rich flavor yet is ready to serve in just 45 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • chopped
  • chopped
  • minced
  • 1 tsp. dried basil
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 (28-ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes
  • 1/3 c. red wine or water
  • 1/4 c. tomato paste
  • cooked
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Heat oil in nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add next six ingredients; cook eight to 10 minutes, stirring. Add beef; cook until browned, 10 minutes, stirring often. Add tomatoes with their juices, wine, tomato paste and 1/3 cup water. Using spoon, break up tomatoes slightly.

Cover pan; over medium-high heat, bring mixture to a boil. Over medium heat, simmer until thickened, 15 to 20 min. Toss spaghetti with sauce. If desired, top with basil.
