Lacey Chabert’s early Hallmark career

After Elevator Girl, Lacey jumped back onto the Hallmark scene in 2012 when she appeared in Matchmaker Santa. What followed were a series of projects outside of Hallmark, but by 2014, she left her mark in The Color of Rain and A Royal Christmas. Since then, Chabert’s involvement on the network has been nearly nonstop. 

“I’ve actually gotten to be a part of watching [the Hallmark Channel] grow as a network, and I’m so proud to be a part of it because I think that their programming—whether it’s the mysteries or the Christmas movies—no matter what, it always ends on an uplifting note,” Chabert shared with Build Series in 2019. “It always finds the uplifting thing in the story and for me, I’m proud of the fact that it just puts a little bit of goodness back in the world. From star to producer: Lacey Chabert’s behind-the-scenes influence

After several years of starring on the Hallmark Channel, Chabert has showcased her abilities behind the scenes as well, with her first executive producing credit being on 2016’s A Wish for Christmas. Since then, she has played an important role behind the camera on dozens of films and series, and knowing the joy they bring to viewers is what means the most. 

“I think the thing that has become the most rewarding for me and being a part of these movies is when I meet people; the common thread is always ‘Thanks for doing something that’s uplifting,’” Chabert told Forbes. “’Those movies helped me while I was recovering from surgery or going through a difficult time in life.’ At this point, I kind of consider it an honor to be a part of bringing some goodness into the world.”

The story behind Lacey Chabert voicing Meg on ‘Family Guy’

In 1999, Chabert made her Family Guy debut voicing Meg Griffin on the hit series and took part in the show’s first season. Though Mila Kunis eventually took over the role and Family Guy has since become a television phenomenon, Chabert insisted that there was no bad blood surrounding her exit. 

“I actually left the show of my own accord,” Chabert clarified in conversation with GameSpy. “And only because I was in school and doing Party of Five at the time. But I think the show is hilarious, and I don’t have a grudge against her [Kunis] at all. I think she’s a great actress.” 

The show’s creator, Seth MacFarlane, also pulled the curtain back on Chabert being replaced in an interview with IGN. “It was just purely a contractual thing. Lacey Chabert, I think there was a mistake in her contract, and I guess she had not intended to be involved for the full run of the show. I don’t even remember. To be honest, I don’t really, to this day, know what it was,” He explained. “It was nothing—there was no tension or anything. She wanted to go, and she was very cool about it. We obviously don’t want to keep anyone there who doesn’t want to be there. So, you know, it was early on enough in the show that it wasn’t a huge—that happens from time to time, you’ve got to replace a voice actor.”

Party of Five, the ’90s drama, starred familiar faces like Scott Wolf, Matthew Fox, Neve Campbell and Jennifer Love Hewitt. The series followed a group of five siblings who, after the tragic death of their parents, navigate life on their own under the guardianship of their oldest brother. 

“I feel like so much of who I am now as an adult, so much of it is from the influence that that amazing group of people had on me from the ages of 11 to 17,” Chabert revealed to UsWeekly. “I went through a lot of firsts, like, kind of every first that a girl from 11 to 17 can go through. And a lot of times [whatever] it was hadn’t yet happened for me in real life—or it was a first time—and, you know, there was so much reality to it.”

How Taylor Swift and Stevie Nick first met 

Swift and Nicks first met at the 2010 Grammy Awards when they performed a medley of Fleetwood Mac’s “Rhiannon” and Swift’s “You Belong With Me.” 

“She’s 20 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. and slender; I’m 40 years older and, to be frank, neither of the other two things! I was not about to stand next to this girl on national television,” Nicks wrote in an excerpt for the 2010 TIME 100, according to our sister site Us Weekly. “But her little face just lights up like a star, and I couldn’t say no.”

Following that performance, Swift went on to release a song called “Mean,” which many people believe was her response to longtime music critic Bob Lefsetz’s review of that 2010 performance. The song was then re-recorded and re-released in 2023 on Swift’s album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version).

I wanted to get better, to challenge myself, and to build on my skills as a writer, an artist, and a performer. I didn’t want to just be handed respect and acceptance in my field. I wanted to earn it,” Swift wrote in the album’s vinyl prologue. “To try and confront these demons, I underwent extensive vocal training and made a decision that would completely define this album: I decided I would write it entirely on my own. I figured, they couldn’t give all the credit to my cowriters if there weren’t any. But that posed a new challenge: It really had to be good. If it wasn’t, I would be proving my critics right.” 

Stevie Nicks opens up about how Taylor Swift’s music helped her 

Following that 2010 collaboration, Nicks and Swift continued to stay in touch. They mentioned each other in interviews and had nothing but nice things to say. Those moments were short though, but in 2023 Nicks revealed that Swift’s song “You’re on Your Own, Kid”—which appeared on her 2022 album Midnights—actually helped her get over the devastating loss of Nicks’s bandmate Christine McVie.

“Thank you to Taylor Swift for doing this thing for me, and that is writing a song called ‘You’re On Your Own, Kid,’” Nicks said, according to Rolling Stone. “That is the sadness of how I feel. As long as Chris was, even on the other side of the world, we didn’t have to talk on the phone. We really weren’t phone buddies. Then we would go back to Fleetwood Mac, and we would walk in and it would be like ‘little sister, how are you?’ It was like never a minute had passed, never an argument in our entire 47 years.” 

“So, when it was the two of us, the two of us were on our own, kids, we always were. And now, I’m having to learn to be on my own, kid, by myself,” the singer continued. “ So, you help me to do that. Thank you.”

Taylor Swift calls out Stevie Nicks

Perhaps one of the best moments in Swift and Nicks’s friendship was when Swift released the song “Clara Bow” on her 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department and called out Nicks.

“You look like Stevie Nicks in ’75, the hair and lips,” Swift sang. “Crowd goes wild at her fingertips, half moonshine, a full eclipse.”

Nicks also wrote a poem for that album, and while it wasn’t about their friendship, it did call out the loss and heartbreak both women have been through. 

“He was in love with her. Or at least she thought so .She was broken-hearted. Maybe he was too. Neither of them knew,” Nicks wrote. “She was way too hot to handle. He was way too high to try, He couldn’t even see her. He wouldn’t open his eyes. She was on her way to the stars.” 

Since the album’s release, Swift has only performed “Clara Bow” live once—and it just so happened to be at the Eras Tour concert that Nicks attended. 

“I’ve never played this song live at all and the reason I want to play this tonight is because a friend of mine is here, who is watching the show and has really been one of the reasons why I or any female artist gets to do what we do,” Swift said before she performed it. “She paved the way for us.”

“She’s a hero of mine and also someone I could tell her any secret [and] she’d never tell anybody. She’s really helped me through so much over the years,” the singer continued. “I’m talking about Stevie Nicks.”

For fans who remember when Elizabeth Taylor waved a 33.19-carat rock at reporters like it was a wristwatch, Swift’s choice feels less like coincidence and more like a wink across the decades.

The ring Travis Kelce chose

The bauble Kelce slid onto Swift’s finger is a showstopper by any measure. Designed by Kindred Lubeck at Artifex Fine Jewelry, it features an old mine brilliant cut diamond—a pre-modern stone characterized by imperfect symmetry, a cushion shape and chunky, hand-cut facets—set on a gold band with smaller stones and a thin bezel. It’s the kind of ring that looks like it was pulled from an estate sale in 1912, which is precisely the point.

Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia, founder of Abelini, told Us Weekly that the stone “looks to be easily in the 7–10 carat range, which immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings.” His estimate: somewhere between $950,000 and $1,270,000. Jeweler Laura Taylor, who specializes in engagement and wedding rings, went further, suggesting the diamond could reach up to 12 carats and was “easily worth” $1 million.

And here’s the part that will make Hollywood historians smile: Kelce picked it out himself.

“Travis is incredibly thoughtful. He had a clear vision of what he wanted,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “He chose it almost entirely on his own. He knows her so well and what she likes—a timeless, classic, vintage touch.” The insider added that Kelce is “very observant and in tune with” Swift’s preferred style. “He considered everything about what she’d like and want, and he paid attention to the jewelry she wears often for inspiration.”

Timeless. Classic. Vintage. Those aren’t accidental words—they’re the exact aesthetic Swift wove into her song “Elizabeth Taylor,” and the aesthetic she pays tribute to in the accompanying music video.

“All my white diamonds and lovers are forever”

In her track “Elizabeth Taylor,” Swift sings, “All my white diamonds and lovers are forever”—a lyric that lands differently when you know the music video features footage of Elizabeth Taylor’s legendary diamond ring. That ring, now known as the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond, has a backstory more dramatic than most of the films the actress starred in.

It began as the Krupp Diamond, a 33.19-carat Asscher-cut stone (similar to an emerald cut) prized as a Type IIa gem for its exceptional chemical purity and transparency. Vera Krupp received it from her husband, German industrialist Alfried Krupp, in the early 1950s.

Then came the heist.

On April 10, 1959, three men broke into Vera Krupp’s Nevada ranch and ripped the diamond off her hand. The theft triggered a nationwide FBI investigation that spanned six weeks before agents finally tracked the stone to New Jersey. Vera got the ring back, but after the ordeal she kept it hidden whenever she went out in public.

After Krupp died in 1968, the diamond went to auction in New York. And that’s where Richard Burton stepped in.

Richard Burton, the yacht and a gift for the ages

Burton and Elizabeth Taylor were, by 1968, already Hollywood’s most operatic couple. They’d met filming 1963’s “Cleopatra”—both married to other people at the time, Taylor to Eddie Fisher and Burton to Sybil Williams. Their affair scandalized the industry, ended two marriages and produced one of their own in 1964.

At auction, Burton bid on the Krupp Diamond and won it for $307,000—the equivalent of nearly $3.5 million today. Not as an engagement ring; the two were already married. He simply wanted her to have it. He presented the diamond to Taylor while the couple was aboard their yacht, and from that day forward, it lived on her finger.

Taylor wore the ring daily. It was her favorite “day-to-day” piece, worn to galas, on film sets and through the twists of her life. When she and Burton divorced in 1974—only to remarry in 1975 and divorce again in 1976—the ring stayed. It outlasted the marriage twice over.

From Christie’s auction to Taylor Swift’s music video

When Elizabeth Taylor died in 2011, Christie’s put the diamond up for auction, and the ring was formally renamed the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond in her honor. It sold for $8.8 million to a representative of the Korean E-Land Group, and it’s believed to remain part of their private collection.

Which is what makes its appearance in Swift’s “Elizabeth Taylor” music video such a poetic full-circle moment. The pop star, named after the actress by her mother, borrows the diamond—if only in footage—to accompany a song that meditates on love, legacy and the way white diamonds outlast almost everything else.

Then, months later, Swift accepts her own vintage-cut diamond from Kelce.

A Cartier watch and a wedding for the ages

Swift didn’t just wear the ring in her engagement photos. She styled it with a Cartier watch featuring a matching gold wristlet and diamond face—a bit of jewelry choreography Elizabeth Taylor herself would have approved of.

Ahead of the couple’s July 3, 2026, wedding at Madison Square Garden, Swift stepped out in Nashville wearing a red M’rhen Camila Day Dress and roughly $15,000 in jewelry, including a Sophie Jane Jewels diamond horseshoe necklace (about $4,485), a $9,400 Cartier Love bracelet and, of course, her Kindred Lubeck ring, which she now wears with custom engravings added to the band.

On July 3, 2026, Swift and Kelce, both 36, said “I do” at Madison Square Garden. Digital billboards outside the venue lit up with the message: “JusT&T Married.”

“Whenever I’m with her, it feels like we’re just regular people,” Kelce told GQ in September 2025. “When there is not a camera on us, we’re just two people that are in love.”

Elizabeth Taylor might have laughed at “regular people.” But she would have understood the ring—and understood, better than anyone, that a great diamond has a way of outliving everyone who ever wore it.

A friendship bracelet started it all

Here’s the part that gets us every time. Back in July 2023, Travis attended one of Taylor’s Eras Tour concerts in Kansas City, Missouri, hoping to hand her a friendship bracelet with his phone number tucked inside. He never got the chance. Instead of tucking his tail and going home, this sweet man went on his podcast, “New Heights,” with brother Jason Kelce and told the whole world how disappointed he was.

Word made its way back to Taylor, thanks to some mutual friends who spoke up on his behalf. “There were definitely people she knew that knew who I was, in her corner [who said]: Yo! Did you know he was coming?” Travis recalled to WSJ. Magazine in November 2023. “I had somebody playing Cupid.”

Taylor, for her part, was tickled by his boldness. “This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she told TIME in December 2023. She added something we especially loved: “We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”

By the time she showed up cheering at her first Kansas City Chiefs game that September, the two were already a couple. “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date,” Taylor quipped.

Turns out, Travis had been paying attention for a long, long time. Taylor revealed on the U.K.’s Heart radio station in October 2025 that she’d shown him a video of Lubeck’s work “a year and a half ago, and he was just paying attention to everything, it turns out!”

“When I saw the ring, I was just, like, [gasping],” she continued. “I was like, ‘I know who made that! I know who made that! And also, you listen to me.’ He did amazing. It was like, ‘You really know me.'”

Now, if that doesn’t make you smile, we don’t know what will. A man who listens? That’s the real treasure.

A wedding day dressed by Dior

For her walk down the aisle, Taylor wore a bespoke Christian Dior Haute Couture gown, designed by Jonathan Anderson in close collaboration with the bride and groom themselves. According to a press release, this marks Anderson’s first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Her shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin, and she chose Cartier jewelry to complete the look.

About 1,000 guests filled Madison Square Garden—a mix of Taylor’s famous friends and Travis’s Kansas City Chiefs teammates. Rather than mail out hard copy invitations (privacy concerns, you understand), the couple simply let their closest circle know the date and venue.

Taylor had shared her hopes for the day back in October 2025, saying she didn’t want a small wedding where guests were “on the bubble.” “I know it’s gonna be fun to plan because I think the only stressful weddings are the ones where you have a small amount [of room] and people are on the bubble and you have to evaluate or assess your relationship with them,” she said on The Graham Norton Show. Bless her heart—she wanted room for everyone she loves.

The gift that stole our hearts

Now, here comes the part we simply had to share. Ahead of their wedding, Taylor and Travis donated a jaw-dropping $26 million to charities close to their hearts. Among the recipients? Dolly Parton’s beloved Imagination Library, which received $2 million.

If you’re not familiar with the Imagination Library, oh, you’re in for a treat. Dolly founded the program back in 1995, and since then it has delivered more than 120 million free books to children all around the world. Every month, enrolled children receive a book in the mail, free of charge—building their very own home libraries and their love of reading.

And the reason Dolly started it? Well, get your tissues ready.

“Before he passed away, my Daddy told me the Imagination Library was probably the most important thing I had ever done. I can’t tell you how much that meant to me because I created the Imagination Library as a tribute to my Daddy,” Dolly shared in a letter to fans. “He was the smartest man I have ever known but I know in my heart his inability to read probably kept him from fulfilling all of his dreams.”

Dolly took to Instagram to thank Taylor and Travis in the sweetest way possible. “Taylor and Travis, it’s Dolly! And I was just told that you two are making a donation of $2 million to my Imagination Library,” she said. “Thank you, thank you, thank you—I’m blown away and overjoyed with that gratitude.” Then, being Dolly, she added a tongue-in-cheek joke: “Now, it’s evident that you two have made giving back a key part of your lives…so hey, when you have your first born, can I have it? Because that is going to be one special baby!”

Before signing off, she blew a kiss and playfully sang, “And know I will always love you.”

A mutual admiration society

Taylor and Dolly have long shared a bond of mutual respect. “She’s so smart, she’s so great—she’s a genius really,” Dolly said on The Drew Barrymore Show in 2023.

Taylor returned the sentiment with equal warmth, telling The Hollywood Reporter that year, “Dolly is a force of evolution and transformation in our industry, but she does it with such playful levity it almost looks effortless. Taylor’s husband at the time, movie producer Mike Todd, hosted the lavish bash to celebrate the first anniversary of his Oscar-winning film Around the World in 80 Days. According to The New York Times in 2008, Todd filled MSG with 18,000 guests, 12 elephants, 400 members of the press, 4,000 pizzas, 36,000 doughnuts and 25,000 hot dogs. (Yes, you read that correctly. Twelve. Elephants.)

The evening was even broadcast on television, with CBS’s Walter Cronkite covering the affair — which he reportedly later described as “an essay on empty extravagance.” Ouch, Walter. Taylor herself played a starring role in the night, cutting into a 14-foot-high cake.

Todd, who tragically died in a plane crash just a year later, apparently had some regrets. “It taught me a lesson. I’ll never have a party for 18,000 people. Never more than 17,500 people. 18,000 gets unwieldy,” he said, per the Times.

The “Elizabeth Taylor” music video, released in March, features archival footage of the Hollywood legend — including her legendary diamond ring. The story behind that ring is worthy of its own miniseries.

The stone is a 33.19 carat Asscher-cut diamond, Type IIa (a designation for its exceptional purity), originally known as the Krupp Diamond. Before Elizabeth Taylor ever laid eyes on it, the ring belonged to Vera Krupp, wife of German industrialist Alfried Krupp, who gave it to her in the early 1950s. Then, in 1959, the ring was famously stolen right off Vera’s hand when three men broke into her Nevada ranch. An FBI investigation eventually recovered it in New Jersey six weeks later.

After Vera Krupp’s death, Richard Burton snapped it up at a New York auction for $307,000 (about $3.5 million today) and gifted it to Elizabeth Taylor while they were on their yacht. She wore it daily—even after they divorced—right up until she died in 2011. It was then renamed the Elizabeth Taylor Diamond and auctioned by Christie’s for $8.8 million to a representative of the Korean E-Land Group.

Taylor’s estate approved of Swift’s homage, telling TMZ that the music video is “an homage in the truest sense.” The statement continued: “We are delighted by this celebration and the care with which Taylor Swift has spotlighted what so many have long understood: Elizabeth Taylor was a true icon, a trailblazer in every sense of the word. She lived unapologetically and on her own terms.”

Dolly founded the Imagination Library in 1995, and since then the cherished program has delivered more than 120 million free books to children all around the world. Earlier today, a rep for Taylor told People that Taylor and Travis made a generous $26 million donation to an array of organizations “this week.”

In addition to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Swift and Kelce donated to a wide range of organizations, including City Harvest, the Food Bank for New York City, New York Cares, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Harvesters in Kansas City, Brad Paisley and Kimberly Paisley’s The Store in Nashville, Helping Harvest in Pennsylvania, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank, Feeding America, the ASPCA and Grammy in the Schools.

But that’s not all! Dolly’s wedding was very small

For a superstar like Dolly Parton, you might’ve expected the singer would have a huge bash full of celebrities and friends and family. However, Parton and her husband opted for a much smaller affair, thanks to a warning from her then manager, Fred Foster. 

Although the couple had expected to have a larger party, Foster told Parton that tying the knot would “make it so much harder” with “all this promotion,” as she was on the verge of her big break. So the two eloped to Ringgold, Georgia, where they exchanged vows in front of the pastor, his wife and Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Owens.

For the wedding dress, Parton went for a more understated look than her usual attire, opting for a simple, white, knee-length dress. As for the rings, Parton and Dean had to borrow money from his mother to get them. 

“When my husband and I got married back in 1966, we didn’t have the money to buy anything, but my mother-in-law, Carl’s mother, she had a credit at Sears, a charge account,” Parton explained. “So we bought our rings at Sears on her account. I was working a little bit and [Carl] was working, so we paid her every month on my wedding rings.”

How did the couple meet?

Parton and Dean had a very simple meeting that feels straight out of a romantic comedy. The two first locked eyes while outside the Wishy Washy Laundromat in Nashville, Tennessee. 

“I was surprised and delighted that while he talked to me, he looked at my face (a rare thing for me),” Parton explained of their meeting. “He seemed to be genuinely interested in finding out who I was and what I was about.”

Dean recalled the thoughts that were running through his mind when he first met Parton. He said, “My first thought was ‘I’m gonna marry that girl,’ My second thought was, ‘Lord she’s good lookin.’ And that was the day my life began. I wouldn’t trade the last 50 years for nothing on this earth.”

It was just two years after that first meeting that the couple decided to get married on May 30, 1966. Then fifty years later, the couple decided to renew their vows on May 30, 2016. This time, the couple had the big, elaborate ceremony they couldn’t have the first time around. 

“If I had it to do all over, I’d do it all over again, and we did,” Parton said of their vow renewal. “I’m dragging him kicking and screaming into the next 50 years.”
