While Off Campus continues to dominate TV screens and social media feeds, viewers have become just as invested in the cast off-screen as they are in the show’s romances. One question fans keep asking: Are the friendships between the actors as genuine as they seem? Stars Ella Bright and Belmont Cameli opened up about the cast’s real-life chemistry and the close bond they’ve formed while attending Obsessed Fest.

“It was kind of almost immediate,” Bright, who plays Hannah Wells on Off Campus, shared of the stars’ chemistry. “There was a very strong precedent set from the very beginning that this is a found family show, and it’s not just about one or two characters or the romantic interests, it’s also about the friendships and the hockey team. All of the characters that are involved in that, so the precedent that was set, and I think that we all just, yeah, followed suit and it was very easy.”

Belmont Cameli, who stars as Garrett Graham, chimed in with his own thoughts, explaining that they all just clicked easily.

“Yeah, I mean, when we got to Vancouver, we just clicked,” Cameli said. “There’s really no secret sauce. It was just that they cast a group of people that got along really well and it was fun from the very beginning. We love making this show together and we’re working on our second season right now and it’s just as fun.”

Starring alongside Bright and Cameli are Stephen Kalyn, Mika Abdalla, Antonio Cipriano, Jalen Thomas Brooks and Josh Heuston, among others.

Allie and Hannah have one of the sweetest friendships on-screen in Off Campus, always supporting and showing up for one another. But in real life, that bond is even tighter. Abdalla and Bright, who play Allie and Hannah respectively, spoke about their relationship and what it’s been like to experience the Off Campus craze together.

“We talk about it all the time, like I literally don’t know what I would do if I was going through this alone,” Abdalla shared in an Obsessed Fest interview. “It’s really special to be with people that are experiencing the exact same thing.”

In another interview from the weekend, the two girls shared that they spent a lot of time together off set. Bright explained, “This is literally one of my best friends. We basically lived in the same apartment last year… [the connection was] literally immediately.” Abdalla added that, “As soon as we wrapped [Season 1], I came to London to visit and we hung out. I can’t stay away from her.”

Even when things have to get serious on set when filming more difficult scenes, the cast is always finding ways to have fun. Cameli and Stephen Kalyn, who stars as Dean, touched on how they keep things light even when it might be a harder day.

“We always keep it light,” Kalyn said of filming difficult scenes. “There’s no problem there, we’re always having fun.”Even if it’s a heavier day and I’m trying to stay in the zone, I’ll look over at Belmont and he’ll give me a smirk and I’ll be like, ‘You gotta leave me alone, man, I gotta lock in here.’ But yeah, we always keep it light, 24/7.” Cameli added, “We have a ton of fun.”

The cast had Friday night costume parties

Not only did the stars of Off Campus form strong friendships, but they found creative ways tighten their bond—like their Friday night costume parties. The cast would frequently spend time together at each other’s apartments and houses and throw themed parties.

“On the weekends, we were always together,” Bright said of the cast. Cameli chimed in to say, “A lot of Friday’s at Belmont’s house… and costume parties. I brought so much clothing to Vancouver, which made no sense because I wore the same pants every single day I was working. But it worked because every Friday when we’d have everyone over, I’d have them come into my closet one at a time, I’d dress them up, I’d make them look good, I’d turn them around and go ‘Show ’em what you got’… we did a business casual night and we all had a suit on.”

Henry Czerny will play Glenn, Chelsea’s father in the series, who gives her a push toward exploring her past in the series. Most recently, you may have caught him star alongside Valerie Bertinelli in her Lifetime movie Love, Again. 

Stephen Hagan as Colin

Stephen Hagan also joins the cast as Colin, but this isn’t the first time he and Lacey Chabert have shared the screen! Back in 2014, they starred alongside one another in A Royal Christmas! We can’t wait to see this duo back alongside each other!

Julien Samani as Sebastian

Julien Samani will play Sebastian in Paris Is Always a Good Idea, and while he and Lacey never acted on the network with each other, he made his debut back in 2025 in An Alpine Holiday. 

Alejandro Albarracin as Marcos

Alejandro Albarracin, an actor who hails from Spain, will play Marcos in the film. As he makes his Hallmark debut, the actor opened up about the experience of filming a series entirely in English in a post shared to his Instagram.

“It’s not easy to interpret in a language you don’t know. There are so many things that are out of your control. But, even knowing it, this time I proposed: enjoy it, with all that it entails. And for someone as demanding and controlling as I am, that was, in itself, a great challenge,” he shared.

“We finished [Season 1] with Chad beautifully. We finished this season together. It was a really difficult but really satisfying show to make. And so was Yellowstone,” Reilly told the outlet. “So is anything worth making. We’re all creative minds and we all work together and I’m so proud of that.” 

Reilly is 48 years old and has been married to Kyle Baugher since 2012.

Since he’s the other star of Dutton Ranch, it’s no surprise that Cole Hauser will return as fan-favorite Rip Wheeler for Season 2. What could be a surprise is a Dutton Ranch x Marshals crossover, which the actor told The Hollywood Reporter he was ready for. 

“I would love it. Luke [Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton] is one of our closest friends and like a brother to me,”  the actor said. “I would like to see Rip and Kayce get along for a change. A little peace.” 

Hauser is 51 years old and has been married to Cynthia Daniel since 2006. They have three children together. 

Finn Little as Carter 

Finn Little, who plays Beth and Rip’s adoptive son Carter, is expected to return for Season 2. And while we don’t know what his storyline will center around, we do know that the actor is just as excited to be involved in the project as anyone else

“It was awesome [working on Dutton Ranch]. It was so amazing,” Little told Woman’s World earlier this year. “I always enjoyed going back to Yellowstone and being back on set, doing what I love to do, so being back on Dutton Ranch was just the same.”

Little is 20 years old and originally from Brisbane, Australia. 

Natalie Alyn Lind as Oreana 

Natalie Alyn Lind plays Little’s on-screen love interest in Dutton Ranch, and based on how that is going in Season 1, it’s safe to assume that their love story will continue in Season 2.

“I was a huge fan of the show [Yellowstone], so going in and being able to be a part of it definitely felt surreal from the beginning,” Lind told Woman’s World earlier this year. “There’s a lot of hesitation about starting a new franchise that’s already a part of one, but I’m so happy with how the show turned out. It’s an honor to be a part of it now.” 

Alyn Lind is 26 years old and originally from Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Barbara Alyn Woods, is also an actress and is best known for her work in the hit 2000s teen drama One Tree Hill.

What is ‘Off Campus’ Season 2 about?

Warning: Spoilers ahead! Season 1 of Off Campus centered on fan-favorite college couple Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) and Hannah Wells (Ella Bright). Hannah, a smart music major, and Garrett, the university’s charming yet cocky hockey captain become unlikely friends after they strike up a deal. Hannah will tutor Garrett to improve his grades, and in exchange, he will pretend to date her to make her crush, Justin (Josh Heuston) jealous. Soon, their ‘fauxmance’ starts to feel very real.

Belmont Cameli on filming Season 2: ‘It’s just as fun’

Yesterday, at Obsessed Fest, Belmont Cameli offered fans a much-needed update on Season 2. What we learned: They’re well into filming, have already wrapped two episodes and are now onto the third. When the panel’s moderator asked what it felt like to step back on set, Cameli immediately smiled.

“It kind of feels just like going home for the summer,” Cameli replied. “It doesn’t really feel like we missed a beat. We had the press tour and then we went straight to Vancouver to get to work and it felt like we were just there.”

Cameli on the ‘incredible’ writing in Season 2

He also revealed that the cast has been blown away by the Season 2 writing, crediting writer Louisa Levy with once again translating Elle Kennedy’s novel into a compelling TV series. “We’ve read a handful of episodes for this second season and the writing is still incredible. When we do a table read it’s really fun and we all clap and go ‘wow, we feel really lucky to be on this show.’ That’s what we felt last summer—and that’s how we feel right now.”

Cameli also reiterated that the good vibes and friendships between himself, Bright and everyone on set were there from the start. “When we first got to Vancouver, we just clicked,” Cameli said. “There’s really no secret sauce. It’s just a cast of people who got along really well. It was fun from the very beginning. We loved making this show together and we’re working on the second season right now and it’s just as fun.”

Damian Hardung opens up about James’ arc 

Hardung weighed in on Season 2 and Season 3 drama as well as James’ character arc. “James is also not maybe the nicest character in the beginning,” he told the audience at Obsessed Fest on June 27. “So I think overall there’s this idea of having him try to find ways to immerse in the life that is true to himself instead of the life that his family always expected of him.”

“And to experience unconditional love is something that he’s never had—because it’s always bound to living up to the expectations of his family,” he continued. “Finding a place in the world that you actually design for yourself—that’s an empowering message for everyone out there and I think James goes through that…and you might be seeing more of that in Season 3.”

The symbolism behind James’ ring

Another fascinating topic Hardung explored at Obsessed Fest was the importance of heirlooms and symbolism in Maxton Hall—particularly one very significant piece of jewelry. “The Beaufort ring, which I’m wearing now, connects James to his family, which is the one thing he’s trying to get away from,” Hardung said. (That’s right—he was actually wearing the ring in person yesterday!)

“And there’s maybe something in Season 3 where the ring captures that whole journey with him. I think having symbols and moments in scenes that connect to a larger theme, or are a metaphor for the journey, I think that’s something very beautiful to take away from the story.”

Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell open up about their friendship 

Finglass, 61,  director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, and Trammell, 68, is the head choreographer. There was time, though, when they were both cheerleaders, but according to Trammell, “We didn’t cheer together. I was already the assistant choreographer when Kelli cheered, so we don’t have any of those memories to share where we cheered together, except once when I came back and put a uniform on after having a baby, and we did one performance together.”

Even so, the two women love and respect one another in ways that nobody else understands. 

“What I love about Kelli is that she’s funny, and she always makes me laugh,” Trammell says with a smile. “She loves joking, but she’s serious when she has to be.” 

As for Finglass, she loves that Trammell has and always will be on her speed dial. 

“Judy has three children and five grandkids. I have two children, and Judy was always a few years ahead of me in the phases of life of children, but everything that I observed with her and saw her experience became my experiences, too. So we’ve also been in some way loyal mentors for each other, support systems for each other,” she explains. “There’s no one in the world that knows what our lives are like, except the two of us in this interview. It’s such a unique situation of being a coach and being in the excitement and the fast pace of the NFL, and now television entertainment, but at the same time, there’s very, very simple things that make me and Judy happy, like if we’re on a road trip and we see a restaurant and there’s bistro light bulbs, we’re going to the restaurant with the light bulbs and a patio.” 

“We’re probably more compatible with each other than we are with our own husbands,” Finglass jokes.

Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell talk about traveling together 

Over the years, Finglass and Trammell have traveled all over the world together for swimsuit calendar shoots, USO tours, press trips and more. Each journey has been different, but according to Finglass, all of them felt like “a permanent girls trip.” 

“We room together many times. We had an instance a couple years ago where the whole troop fell down escalators in an airport with suitcases, and it was a comedy,” she explains. “We’ve spent a lot of years in Mexico on photo projects. We love New York City, where we are right now. We’ve both been to Turkey, we’ve both been to South Korea, we’ve both been to Italy—Judy and I shared many Christmases in South Korea and the Philippines, and if I mentioned the Philippines and the officers’ quarters, I know you [Judy] knew exactly what was there waiting on us.” 

“Cheetos,” Trammell answers without even thinking about it. 

Adds Finglass, “Cheetos in the Philippines and the biscuits and gravy in South Korea at Osan Air Force Base. I’ll never forget those.” 

As for their most recent trip, the duo went to New York City to appear on the Today show and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. 

“It was exciting, it was fun,” Finglass said of the Today show. “They’re amazing people. It feels like home when we show up there every time.”

First, a quick recap as to what happened to Beulah Jackson

What should have been a joyful birthday celebration for Beulah at 10-Petal in Episode 7 turned into one of Dutton Ranch’s most explosive moments yet. During the party, Rob-Will (Jai Courtney) stunned everyone by revealing, while reading Beulah’s speech, that Joaquin (Juan Pablo Raba) is not her biological son.

“Joaquin might not be a Jackson by birth, but he’s known no other family, and I’ve seen him as nothing other than my own flesh and blood,” reads Rob-Will. “Today is momentous for him, for me and for the legacy of the 10-Petal.”

Rob-Will then threatens his mother and demands she give him the ranch, since he’s the only Jackson by blood. Somehow Beulah agrees, and reveals during her new speech that Rob-Will will take over the ranch, not Joaquin. She then walks off stage and has a heart attack. Rob-Will then turns his anger toward Beulah, threatening his mother and demanding control of the ranch on the grounds that he is the only Jackson by blood. Under immense pressure, Beulah gives in. In a shocking reversal, she returns to the microphone and announces that Rob-Will—not Joaquin—will inherit 10-Petal.But the emotional toll proves devastating. Moments after making the announcement, Beulah walks off the stage and suffers a heart attack.

“There’s so much story to tell right here,” Raba teased to our sister site Us Weekly after the episode aired. “But with that being said, I know the same thing you do.”

Fans then spent the next week worried that one of the most intriguing characters in the Yellowstone universe was dead. Dutton Ranch star Natalie Alyn Lind didn’t help with the worry, telling Us Weekly, “Nobody dies [in the finale]. Everybody dies…. .. Oh, wait, they’re all dead.”

So, is Beulah Jackson really dead? 

After a series of tense hospital scenes packed with plenty of drama—feeling like something out of Grey’s Anatomy—Beulah thankfully pulled through. The health scare also became a turning point for her personally, prompting her to reevaluate what mattered most. Determined not to waste her second chance, she ultimately rekindled her relationship with Everett McKinney (Ed Harris).

“When I watched you almost die, well, I’d hate to waste a shot at love just ’cause I’m so damn stubborn,” Everett told Beulah. “What I’m trying to say is, I’m ready to take that final ride with you, if you are.”

Beulah smiled and said, “If I’d known that a heart attack would change your mind, I’d have had one sooner.”

Talk about a happy ending! Oh wait, after that more happened that could just destroy everything Beulah’s worked for.

Just when it seemed Beulah might finally get the happy ending she deserved, a new threat emerged—one that could unravel everything she has fought to protect.

In a tense conversation with Zachariah (Marc Menchaca), Austin (Sterling English) drops a bombshell about the state of Beulah’s ranch, claiming the operation has been financially unstable for years. According to Austin, the ranch has been so mismanaged, it’s the only way they’ve kept the lights on, kept living in luxury. I mean, hell, it’s the only way they’ve been able to afford a goddamn thing.”

“Whole Jackson family’s crooked, top to bottom. They ain’t ranchers. Those motherf***ersare thieves, putting every ranch in South Texas at risk,” Austin continued. “10-Petal’s got an operation down in Mexico that steals and smuggles cattle in illegally.”

That smuggling does tie back to Episode 4, when Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) and Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) had to kill all their cattle because one was smuggled in from Mexico and had Hand, Foot and Mouth disease. So, what will happen when they learn that Beulah might have been hedging it? Only time will tell.

But that stigma has begun to fade in recent years, thanks in large part to the remarkable success of Blue Bloods, which spent nearly its entire 14-season run anchoring CBS’s Friday 10 p.m. lineup while consistently attracting millions of loyal viewers and becoming one of television’s most-watched dramas.

Here, learn why networks have long viewed the 10 p.m. hour as a risky place for scripted series—and how Blue Bloods proved that, with the right audience and a strong fan base, it can become one of TV’s most reliable time slots.

‘Law & Order’ moves to 10 p.m.

Law & Order has been a hit show ever since it first aired in 1990 and it has led to several successful spinoffs, including Law & Order: SVU. Although the show took a hiatus between 2010 and 2022, the series was still popular when it returned with its 21st season.

However, much of its success likely stemmed from its 8 p.m. showtime and SVU‘s 9 p.m. time, which are both extremely popular slots for TV shows. Now, with a shift to 10 p.m. for the flagship series, many are expecting it’s end might be near. This change won’t come until the premiere of Season 26 on October 8. You will still be able to catch Law & Order on its usual Thursday night, though with the time change, it’s possible some folks may not tune in.

Why is the 10 p.m. time slot dreaded?

The 10 p.m. time slot has long been the one no show wants to fill. Now, thanks to streaming and other ad-free watch options, the situation has only gotten worse for shows that are placed there.

There are several reasons why shows hope to never receive the push to 10:00. The first, most common reason is early bedtimes. Many people tend to watch a new episode of their favorite show if it’s on at 8:00 p.m. or even 9:00 p.m. But when an episode comes on at 10:00, many folks decide to watch it the next day on a streaming service or they’ll skip it altogether. The late night showing is especially hard for those who have to get up early for work the next day and don’t want to pay attention to a show until 11 p.m.

Another issue is that of streaming services. Before Netflix, Hulu and other platforms took over, viewers could only watch what was on cable and if they were up at 10 p.m., they might catch whatever show was in that time slot. But now that many people have access to these other platforms, it’s likely they turn off the television before 10:00 and choose to watch something ad-free at a quicker pace.

What ‘Blue Bloods’ taught us about the 10 p.m. slot

As difficult as it is for some shows to make it work from the 10 p.m. time slot, there have been some success stories such as Blue Bloods on CBS. The series got the late night slot from the get-go, and while many assumed this was a recipe for disaster, the show was a major success.

Not only did Blue Bloods find success with the late night crowds, but it also aired on Friday nights, which is considered one of the worst time slots for any show. But Blue Bloods made it work, giving the networks a winning night for its entire 14-year run.

Blue Bloods star Tom Selleck addressed the timing after the series came to an end, explaining the unlikeliness of the show’s success. He said, “If you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,’ it would be almost impossible to believe.” Yet, that’s exactly what happened.

So, while 10 p.m. isn’t exactly the spot every show hopes for, it might not be the end for Law & Order. If a show as popular as Blue Bloods could make Friday at 10 p.m. work, there’s still hope for the NBC series.

Dark Shadows began as more of a gothic mystery set at the Collinwood mansion, but with the show suffering from anemic ratings, the decision was made to begin incorporating true elements of the supernatural, ranging from an occasional ghost to the story of a Phoenix who has come to reclaim her son and use him to have her reborn in flames. The ratings began to go up with those stories, so a vampire in the form of Jonathan Frid’s Barnabas Collins was added, turning the show into a true daytime phenomenon. From there, the supernatural elements began to include witches, zombies, time travel, parallel universes and so much more.

Leading the creative team is Lisa Holdsworth, who will serve as executive producer and showrunner. Holdsworth brings significant genre credentials to the project, having created Channel 4’s Dreamers and written for the supernatural drama A Discovery of Witches as well as the long-running BBC hit Call the Midwife. Her background in blending emotional storytelling with fantasy and period elements could make her a natural fit for the gothic world of Dark Shadows.

Joining her as executive producers are Cathy Curtis, Tracy Curtis, Eric Homan, Kevin Kolde and Fred Seibert. Kolde, in particular, is well known in genre circles as a producer on Netflix’s Castlevania and Castlevania: Nocturne, making his involvement especially notable given the similar gothic-horror DNA. Seibert, meanwhile, has spent decades helping launch influential animated projects, including Adventure Time and Castlevania through his Frederator banner.

“It’s very exciting news for the Dark Shadows fandom and for Dark Shadows in general,” observes Danielle Gelehrter, host of the Terror at Collinwood podcast. “Dark Shadows really needed something exciting, and how appropriate for the 60th anniversary that an animated series is coming. I’ve wanted to see an animated version since forever.”

At the moment, the Dark Shadows animated series remains in development, with Warner Bros. Animation offering no details on a release window or production timeline. For now, fans only know that Collinsport is preparing to rise again—this time in animated form.

Previous resurrections

What makes the new animated series especially notable is that Dark Shadows has never truly disappeared. Although the original ABC daytime series ended in 1971, the franchise has repeatedly returned in new forms over the decades, proving the enduring appeal of Barnabas Collins, Collinsport and the gothic mythology surrounding them. From feature films to reboots and attempted revivals, Dark Shadows has continued to evolve while introducing new generations to its world of vampires, ghosts, witches and family secrets.

House of Dark Shadows (1970)

Released while the original series was still on the air, House of Dark Shadows brought Barnabas Collins to the big screen. Starring Jonathan Frid, the film retold Barnabas’ story with a darker tone, more explicit violence and greater horror elements than daytime television allowed.

Night of Dark Shadows (1971)

The second feature shifted away from Barnabas and instead focused on Quentin Collins, played by David Selby. Leaning heavily into supernatural gothic horror, the film explored possession, ghosts and curses tied to the Collins family legacy.

The 1991 Primetime Revival

NBC revived Dark Shadows as a primetime drama in 1991, with Ben Cross taking over the role of Barnabas. The reboot earned praise for its production values and darker tone, but despite a loyal following, it lasted only 12 episodes.

The 2004 Pilot

A new pilot was produced for the WB in 2004, starring Alec Newman as Barnabas Collins and Jessica Chastain in an early-career role. Despite fan interest, the pilot was never picked up to series.

Dark Shadows (2012)

Directed by Tim Burton and starring Johnny Depp as Barnabas Collins, the 2012 film took a more comedic approach to the material. While visually striking and filled with Burton’s signature gothic style, the film divided longtime fans with its blend of horror, camp and comedy.

The strength of animation

Of the new version, Gelehrter notes, “There are things you can do in animation that you can’t do in live action. Also, the cost of producing an animated series and the things you can do—remember, Dark Shadows is a supernatural show with magic and effects, which in live action would be very expensive to produce. I see this as a big shot in the arm to Dark Shadows as a franchise or IP. This has the potential to put Dark Shadows back in the pop culture zeitgeist.”

While fans await word on whether or not the new show will pick up where the original left off—a distinct possibility given the medium—the bigger question is whether the characters will use the likenesses of Frid and co-stars like Lara Parker, Kathryn Leigh Scott, David Selby, Louis Edmonds and Joan Bennett, many of whom are no longer with us. Just one of the many secrets of Dark Shadows that await us.
